Learning Objectives
- Define ventilation, oxygenation, basic anatomy of the lungs, indications for tracheostomy and mechanical ventilation, and the external features of a ventilator.
- Outline common modes of ventilation and associated terminology.
- Demonstrate reading and interpreting ventilator settings for appropriate patient selection for In-Line Passy-Muir Valve use.
