In this webinar, we will delve into various aspects of pediatric feeding, including common feeding issues, assessment techniques, intervention strategies, and collaborative approaches involving parents, caregivers, and healthcare providers. Our goal is to equip you with valuable insights, evidence-based practices, and practical tips that can enhance your ability to support children with feeding difficulties.

Throughout the session, we will explore the importance of early identification and intervention, the role of multidisciplinary teams in addressing feeding challenges comprehensively, and the significance of considering developmental milestones, sensory sensitivities, and behavioral factors in feeding assessments and interventions.

Stephanie Sorrentino, MS CCC-SLP, is a distinguished pediatric speech-language pathologist with a wealth of experience and expertise in pediatrics. Stephanie's academic journey began at Eastern Illinois University, where she pursued both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in speech-language pathology. She further honed her skills through fellowships with EBS Healthcare and Northwestern Medicine’s Lake Forest Hospital, specializing in the Department of Rehabilitation. Stephanie's dedication to advancing the field of pediatric therapy is evident through her fervent advocacy for professional development and leadership. With a proven track record of effectively leading interdisciplinary teams, she brings a unique perspective to her work. Stephanie worked for many years as the only therapist accepting feeding clients at a reputable company. She then established Bite-Sized Beginnings to independently service children with feeding challenges, in the suburbs of Chicago. Committed to ongoing professional growth, Stephanie is actively pursuing Board Certification in Swallowing through the esteemed American Board of Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders. In addition to her entrepreneurial endeavors, she serves as an Adjunct Professor at Saint Xavier University, where she offers invaluable guidance and mentorship to graduate students in clinical practice. Notably, Stephanie is neurodivergent and champions neuro-affirming practices for individuals with developmental disabilities. Her commitment to inclusivity and empowerment underscores her role as a respected leader in her field. Disclosures: Stephanie receives an honorarium for completion of this presentation.
